At Boyare, we will be celebrating Harmony week from this Monday May 19 to Friday May 23. On Monday there will be a YIRRA YAAKIN incursion, and the WA Symphony Orchestra will be coming on Wednesday. Then on Friday we will be having a small celebration assembly followed by a whole school luncheon.
HARMONY DAY CELEBRATION ASSEMBLY STARTS AT 12:30pm. ๐ This will take place in the undercover area. Parents, family members and friends are invited to join with us for the Harmony Day assembly and lunch.
WHOLE SCHOOL CELEBRATION LUNCH FROM 1pm. ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ฅฎ๐ฅ The whole school multicultural lunch follows the assembly. This year there will be 2 main areas where the food will be served. Outside of the Art Room for students in years 1-6 and in the gated grass area for students in Kindy and Pre-primary. All tables will be clearly marked HALAL and NON HALAL.
Parents and guests are encouraged to stay for the lunch. Our favourite part is seeing everyone mingling and sitting together, chatting and laughing together in harmony.
***Parents of Kindy/Pre-primary students are asked to stay with their child in the gated area. Older siblings of Kindy/Pre-primary students are welcome to take their lunch and go sit with their family from 1pm โ 1:20pm. No Kindy or Pre-primary students HAVE PERMISSION TO LEAVE THEIR GATED AREA. If the older sibling wants to play after they eat, they need to go back to the oval. We do not want any big kids playing on the equipment in junior area.
FOOD ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ฅฎ๐ฅ๐ Each student is asked to bring a plate of food from their culture to share with everyone. Please bring your food in a throw away container or clearly label your dish and take it home with you when the lunch ends. All hot food can be delivered straight to the tables before the assembly.
DRESS ๐๐ชญ๐๐โ๏ธ๐๐ฅป๐๐ป Come along in your national costume so we can see all your wonderful traditional outfits. If you do not have a national costume, you can wear any shade of orange, which is the colour for Harmony Day.

If you have a heart for Boyare and you want to have some input, or if you love helping at fundraising events then weโd love to hear from you. Or if you are unsure of what the P&C actually do, we are here to answer those question too.
There are so many different options and opportunities to volunteer. Here are some examples below. ๐๐ฝ
โขYou want to attend all of the P&C meetings which are held 4 times a year. โขYouโre available to hand out fundraising raffle tickets twice a year. (This is a great opportunity to meet so many people.) โขYou have a small child at home but youโd like to help in anyway you can. You canโt make many meetimgs but you want to be in the loop. โขYou want to help count and collect all fundraiser money raised by students, along with the team and a staff member. โขYou would like to help out at events, such as Harmony day, sport carnivals and discos, but only in a small capacity. โขYouโre reliable and free and you have so much spare time. Sign me up!!!
We are very lucky and blessed to have a small team of faithful parents on the Boyare P&C. This term you might see them walking around before and after school, making themselves known and available. If you have any questions for them, take that opportunity to ask them any school or P&C related questions you may have. They will try their best to help you. You can also enquire at the front office too.
We would really love to grow our Boyare P&C this year. So if your ears are ringing, itโs a sign to join. ๐๐ซต๐ฝ

As a dad, I know those extra costs during the school years can really put a dent on the household budget.
That's why we're rolling out our successful WA Student Assistance Payment again.
From the start of Term 2, WA families will be able to claim $150 for each kindy and primary student, and $250 for every high school student.
Itโs real cost of living relief - money back in the pockets of hard-working families. ... See MoreSee Less
